Since 1995, Creative Clay has been providing local artists with disabilities (developmental, emotional and/or physical), as well as people in healthcare settings, the opportunity for expressive, educational, and vocational arts experiences. Creative Clay’s wide range of innovative programs, as well as its special events (such as FOLKFEST), celebrate community and the richness of our local and regional arts. We now have seven arts programs to serve various populations who traditionally have been marginalized. The Sunscreen Film Festival has grown from its first festival in a local art gallery with 600 attendees in 2006 to a nationally recognized event with an annual attendance of over 11,000. The Festival is based at The Shops at St. Pete and Muvico 20 Theaters, in addition to utilizing multiple locations around downtown St. Petersburg. Sunscreen was voted one of the “25 Coolest Film Fests” in the country by MovieMaker Magazine in 2009 and was voted the Best Tampa Bay Area Film Festival in 2012 by Tampa Bay Magazine. Sunscreen is one of only 23 Film Fests in the country to be sponsored and acknowledged by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscars) for 2013.

The Tampa Bay Symphony was founded in 1986 as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation. The 80+ musicians, all of whom are volunteers, come from many walks of life and all ages. Teachers, lawyers, doctors, engineers, housewives, and of course, students and retirees are among those represented. The goal of the orchestra is to promote interest and education in music of high standards, to provide musicians of all ages an opportunity to perform in a symphony orchestra and, thus, to enhance the cultural and artistic life of members of our community. In 2012, Maestro Mark Sforzini was chosen as Music Director and Conductor, replacing Dr. Jack Heller who led the Orchestra for the previous 25 years. Sforzini is also Artistic Director and Conductor of the St. Petersburg Opera. The Orchestra holds an annual "Young Artist Competition" in which students compete to perform with the orchestra. Free tickets are made available to students to all concert events.
