Date: Saturdays, November 10 & 17 Time: 2:00-3:30pm Cost: $20 for one session / $35 for both sessions Back in our hunter-gatherer days, we would experience a sudden burst of stress and then have a long time to recover from the effects. These days, stress is everywhere, happening 24/7 and never giving us a break. We are surrounded by a constant stream of information and distraction and have lost the true connection to ourselves. There has been an increase in stress-related illness, with chronic stress leading to high blood pressure, increased blood sugar levels, inflammation and cognitive problems. We can't always control the stressors in our lives but we can learn how to surf the waves while responding rather than reacting to them. Come join Katherine Robinson for a two-part series to learn techniques to move you out of the stress response and into the relaxation response through breathing, meditation and relaxation techniques. Learn to create new habits of mind that value solitude, stillness and personal reflection. Registrants may attend either session or both.
